Care Guide

To ensure your beautiful new pieces retain their elegance and look their very best for years to come, we have gathered a few mindful care recommendations below. As a golden rule, please always check the individual care label stitched inside each garment for specific instructions tailored to that unique piece.

Washing With Care

  • Wash inside out: This simple step beautifully preserves the vibrant colour and exceptional quality of the fabric.

  • Keep it cool: Machine wash cold (30°C) on a gentle, low-spin cycle to protect delicate fibres.

  • Gentle detergents only: Use a mild, gentle liquid detergent to keep fabrics feeling soft and beautifully preserved.

  • Separate your colours: Always wash similar colours together to prevent any unexpected colour bleeding.

  • Skip the bleach: Avoid harsh chemical bleaches or optical brighteners, which can compromise the clothing's structural integrity over time.

Mindful Drying

  • Embrace air drying: Whenever possible, line dry or lay your garments flat to naturally maintain their tailored shape and fabric weight.

  • Tumble with caution: If you must use a tumble dryer, always opt for a gentle, low-heat setting.

  • Do not over-dry: Remove your pieces just as they finish to prevent unwanted shrinkage or heat damage to the delicate textures.

Ironing & Steaming

  • Press inside out: If ironing is necessary, turn the garment inside out and use a safe, low-to-medium heat setting.

  • Protect the details: Never pass a hot iron directly over unique prints, delicate embellishments, or intricate finishes.

  • Steaming is preferred: We highly recommend using a garment steamer for a much safer, effortless, and wrinkle-free finish that beautifully preserves the natural drape of the garment.

Wardrobe Storage

  • A sanctuary for your style: Store your collection in a cool, dry place away from direct, harsh sunlight.

  • Hang with intention: Hang structured garments, like tailored dresses and blazers, on high-quality hangers to perfectly maintain their shoulder silhouette.

  • Fold your knitwear: Always fold soft knitwear and fine wool sweaters rather than hanging them to prevent the fabric from stretching out of shape.

Additional Boutique Care

  • Mind the friction: Avoid contact with rough surfaces, coarse handbags, or heavy jewellery to minimise natural fabric pilling.

  • Extra protection: Wash extra-delicate items entirely separately or place them inside a mesh laundry bag for an added layer of safety.

Proper, mindful care will wonderfully extend the life and premium quality of your garments — keeping your cherished Lily & Co. pieces looking pristine, confident, and distinctly yours for a long time to come.
